Donald Trump has ordered US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to be investigated by the FBI over claims he sexually assaulted a women 36 years ago.
Kavanaugh’s nomination to the top US court had been approved but in a last-minute change of heart – a Republican senator conditioned his vote pending a fresh probe into Dr Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations.
And President Trump has agreed to let that happen – delaying Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation for up to a week.
